What We Grow
Twin Pines has been working hard to provide you with a multitude of freshly-picked food experiences!
Apples are definitely our largest crop as we produce well over one million pounds from over 35 varieties. We are very proud of our efforts to grow many heritage varieties also. Some apple varieties would have been popular for eating and cider-making in the 1800’s while others are the newest flavours that boast increased shelf life, hardness and incredible flavour. All of our trees are of the dwarf variety, so if you are planning to pick in season, there are no ladders to deal with!
Twin Pines also grows a myriad of pesticide-free vine crops such as squash, pumpkins, and gourds. In season, you will find tomatoes, leeks, peppers, plums, peaches and nectarines. Of course all of our preserves and pies are made from the gardens at Twin Pines…raspberries, strawberries, gooseberries, currants as well as Concord and Niagara white grapes. The proof is in the flavour of each of these remarkable treats!
