Most definitely the crowning jewel of our year is the season of Autumn. By mid September, plentiful displays of pumpkins, gourds, and squash offer a feast for the eyes! Visitors to Twin Pines can pick their own apples, buy freshly pressed cider and oven ready pies, streusels and apple blossoms as well as dozens of mouth-watering preserves. The Cider House is open 7 days a week from 9-5 (Sundays 11-5). Of course tastings are available on weekends or by appointment and you can even book special group tours. Sundays offer some special regular events until the end of October. There are free wagon rides and orchard tours at 2pm and hot cider doughnuts are made by the dozens for you to purchase and enjoy (please be warned that we have been told that the cider doughnuts are addictive!). Apple Fest (last weekend in September) is a date to mark on your calendar and is truly an old fashioned country festival with free samples of sweet cider, pumpkin muffins and apple pie. You can gather free recipes, learn about various apple varieties and enter into a draw to win a bushel of your favourite apples! It's a day to walk the trails and enjoy the fruits of the season. Many families have made this weekend a tradition and snap lots of pictures for their family albums. Thanksgiving is a great time to bring the family out for a lovely pick-your-own experience. Most of our popular fall varieties are ripe and ready for picking and it's a perfect time to choose your jack-o-lanterns, decorative corn and straw bales to decorate and celebrate the season. You will find lots of fall decorating ideas both inside and outside of the Cider house. Fall is not to be missed at Twin Pines! It's an incredible experience!
